tryst with controversy (and fame) happened during the 2011 World Cup. A
relatively unknown model otherwise, she shot herself into the limelight when
she promised to strip if India won the World Cup. That promise, however,
remained unfulfilled as she, reportedly, did not get the permission from BCCI
to strip. Since Poonam Pandey could not live up to her promise to strip, she
posted a semi nude picture of her as a ‘motivational surprise’ for Team India
during the India v/s England series later in the year. As if her semi nude pictures were not creating enough buzz,
she released video titled 'Bathroom Secrets'. The video was deemed too
provocative for the Indian audiences and was blocked from YouTube he biggest
controversy surrounding the model occurred when a morphed picture of hers
featuring her in the nude, next to Sachin morphed as a Hindu God and a
Pakistani cricketer bowing down to him appeared in a leading daily.

Sunny Leone showed that she is not only a pretty face, but has guts as well.
She challenged the prudes by saying, "Porn star doesn't mean
prostitute." She defended being an adult star and said that it's ignorance
that makes people equate adult stars with prostitutes. "I think India
doesn't have an adult entertainment industry - that's why people have no idea
what it is." Her comments had been blown out of proportion by the media
and raised lots of eyebrows.
