controversy around Afzal Guru

Students in the
Jawaharlal Nehru College organized a celebration on Parliament attack the
attacker Afzal Guru who had been hanged in the very months of 2013. This was to
be achieved the next day of the Guru’s third dying anniversary. The big event
coordinators had copied and pasted posters over the campus inviting students
and the other members to collect for any protest march against the killing of
Afzal Guru and Maqbool Bhat as well as in solidarity using the hard work and struggle
of Kashmiri people in the Dhaba within the campus. This triggers the row, using
the People from the (ABVP) planning a protest to ask for expulsion from the
coordinators. The college administration purchased an inquiry and stated the
big event coordinators went forward without permission.

The scholars who have
been the area of the committee, which organized a celebration to the symbol of
the dying anniversary of Guru, stated that not one of them took part of the group,
which was yelling slogans. Students who had been an element of the arranging
committee, said: The programmed would be a cultural evening organized to
question the significance from the Top Court. It had been also designed to
bring the issues from the Kashmiri people to a better life and light. The
struggles and work of determination should be freely discussed. Thinking about
this can be a democrat, why must dissent be covered up?

A situation of sedition
against many unknown students was said to be lodged at the police station. It
had been registered under Sections 124A, 120B and 34. The college also started acting,
barring students from activity pending an inquiry, though they'd be permitted
to remain as visitors within the hostels.

Students gave a
shutdown call; saying that they won’t allow classes to hold around the campus
till union leader Kumar is released. JNU instructors too, became a member of
the scholars in dismissing the classes and stated they'd take classes on republic
nation within the college. The college instructors had rallied behind its
protesting people and students and asked for the decision to permit a law
enforcement attack around and on the campus even while they become a huge hit towards
the public to not name the college as anti-national however they hadn't become
a member of the strike earlier.
